Step-by-Step Instructions for Zesty Italian Pasta Salad
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and cook 1 pound of pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside to cool.
  2. Rinse the pasta under cold running water to halt the cooking process and remove excess starch. Transfer the pasta to a mixing bowl and chill further in the refrigerator.
  3. Prepare cherry tomatoes, olives, shallot, and parsley. Cut salami into thirds or quarters and set aside.
  4. Add the cooled pasta to the mixing bowl along with tomatoes, olives, mozzarella, salami, shallot, and parsley.
  5. Drizzle vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to coat all ingredients.
  6. Serve immediately or chill for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
