  • 4 oz Camembert Cheese Brie can be used as a substitute.
  • 4 oz Sharp Aged Cheddar Cheese Medium cheddar can also work.
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Thyme Rosemary can be a substitute.
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest Use orange zest as an alternative.
  • 1 medium Honeycrisp Apple Fuji or Gala apples can be used.
  • to taste none Fresh Ground Pepper Adjust to your preference.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice four thick pieces of fresh sourdough bread, each about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. On two slices, layer thin slices of camembert cheese, sprinkle with thyme, lemon zest, and fresh pepper.
  3. Thinly slice the honeycrisp apple and arrange over the camembert.
  4. On the remaining two slices, layer sharp aged cheddar cheese.
  5. Close each sandwich with the cheese sides facing each other and press gently.
  6. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and lightly mist with avocado oil spray.
  7. Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cheese melts.
  8. Flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
  9. Remove from skillet, let rest for a moment, then slice in half and serve.
