Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a non-stick donut pan.
- Combine dry ingredients: whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and then mix in milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter until well combined.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just smooth.
- Scoop batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the donuts cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Melt butter for the topping and mix sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Brush the warm donuts with melted butter, then dip in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- If desired, drizzle melted chocolate over the coated donuts.
- Serve warm with coffee or hot chocolate, and enjoy!
