Step-by-Step Instructions for Healthy Twix Bars
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Press firmly into the prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix together creamy peanut butter, maple syrup, almond flour, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread evenly over the cooled shortbread base.
- Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil using a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals until smooth.
- Lift the caramel layer out of the pan and cut into 16 even bars. Dip each bar into the melted chocolate to coat thoroughly.
- Drizzle any remaining melted chocolate over the bars and sprinkle with sea salt. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze individually for up to three months.
