Step-by-Step Instructions for Cream Cheese Strawberry Danish
  1. Prepare the dough by blending flour, butter, and other ingredients. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.
  2. Roll out chilled dough into a rectangle (30x40cm), and cut into 12 large or 20 smaller squares.
  3. Mix cream cheese, sugar, milk, and lemon zest until smooth to prepare the filling.
  4. Place a spoonful of strawberry jam and cream cheese filling on each dough square, topped with chopped strawberries.
  5. Fold corners over the filling, brush with egg wash and sprinkle with demerara sugar. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes.
  6. Cool on a wire rack for a few minutes and serve warm.
