Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of pitted fresh cherries with 2 tablespoons of water. Simmer over low heat for 3–5 minutes until the cherries soften and their juices are released.
- While the cherries are simmering, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Steep 1–2 Earl Grey tea bags for 3–5 minutes for desired strength. Remove tea bags and set aside to cool.
- Add ½ cup of your preferred milk to the warm cherry mixture and stir gently. Optionally, toss in a cinnamon stick for added spice. Warm through for an additional 2 minutes.
- Stir in 1–2 teaspoons of vanilla syrup to the cherry-milk blend, adjusting sweetness to your liking. Taste and ensure balance of sweet and tangy.
- Pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into a serving glass, then strain the cherry-milk mixture over it. Press on cherries while pouring to extract maximum juice.
- Let the mixture cool down to room temperature, then fill a tall glass with ice and pour the combined mixture over it. Garnish with a fresh cherry or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
