Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden at the edges and slightly undercooked in the center.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
