- Wash the bell peppers, slice off the tops, and discard the stems and seeds.

- Add ground beef or turkey to the skillet, cooking until browned (6-8 minutes).
- Mix in cooked rice and tomato sauce, followed by Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 4-5 minutes.
- Fill each bell pepper with the meat mixture, packing it down slightly.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving, optionally sprinkling cheese on top.
